in playing around i see that a magnet is infact not needed to start it ....

however it can be configured to use a magnet

with a bifillar coil and a n3055 no magnet needed  with a reed and a single coil use a magnet ...  i have done this with a 9v battery results are the same as with 12v


it is a kicker  ;D
