Check out this 1960 patent. It talks about negative resistance at low voltages using a degenerate semiconductor as voltage regulator - Teets mentioned using a diode as a voltage regulator recently - (see pat. page 3, lines 37-43, left column). Diagram is on page 1, see explanation on page 3, with special attention to line 59 and following (right column) for arrangement of cap, diode and inductor.

Here's an interesting quote (for what it's worth):

It seems to me a deg. semiconductor most a propos to Tito's device is either a zener or tunneling diode. I have to read more, but time is short right now.  I do know it's important to get straight the differences between avalanche breakdown and behaviour of a tunneling diode. I believe the zener in reverse bias exhibits some TD qualities, but I have to read more and sort it out. It may or may not be important.

- bifi coil cancels transverse wave and secondary reflection from secondary to primary, thereby leaving primary isolated. Only longitudinal (scalar waves) present in bifi coil. Other coils can pick up same scalar energy without losses/change to primary.

-If your main coil is the receiver/antenna, and your pickup coil is bifi, you have no reflective losses between the bifi and receiver/antenna coil, and system stays open.

Only problem is, you've got a very small signal. I think that somewhere between the main coil (receiver/antenna) and bifi, you've got to use a voltage multiplier to boost the voltage, then discharge into AV plug -- cap--coil--diode.

Just thinking out loud. Will work at building now.
