In the Philippines, 70 percent of mangrove forests have been destroyed in recent decades.  They had to make room for, among other fish and shrimp farms.  The animals then landed in Europe on the table.  The forests of trees and shrubs, where salt can not touch, protect the underlying land from floods and typhoons, and they offered to marine animals and birds shelter. So far, the restoration projects in the Asian region are only isolated cases.  Still disappear much more mangrove forests are created as new. Doing so, they not only serve to protect the public and the protection of the coasts from erosion.
