If you look at figure 1 and 2, K and L are the identical items. A step-up transformer. In drawing 1 the "small motor", is not a small motor. It is the symbol that Tesla used to show A.C. input. He uses it on many of his patents.

Actually I can understand what Tito means now!. Strangely enough I can now see that Tito has a point!


There are two sources: ie charge and discharge in diag1, and in diag 2 they are on the same commutator.
So actually Tito is right. Remember there is a language barrier here.
One more point:  the input is DC. (Tesla's own words.)
The way Tesla's wired up his universal motor is BRILLIANT. I've just been testing some of the wiring,
and what looks like a dead short across the commutator actually powers the motor up except it uses more power and gets hot.
