Sorry I havnt posted much. Havnt had much OU in my system lately.

But I read Bobs post the other day quoting some of my ideas of the zener diode use.

Tito talked about the 'at least 3v' zener just after he posted his first diagram below. Well what if that diode in the diagram was a zener? The series resistor is probably for current limiting through the diode. Tito said to me in a pm, 'they can handle a lot of current'.  So if that diode is a zener in the circuit, then the resistor is probably fairly low ohm, but enough to limit the current to a bearable level.

3v?  Well the other direction is less than 1v.  I might think that when the switch is open, if the cap is charged at the time, it would drain the cap. Seems like a possible loss.

Anyway, just had those thoughts the last couple days. If anyone can think of why that diode might be a zener, and just what its purpose is, then maybe we can solve the 'what to do with the zener' issue.

Lol, Tito said once, Coil as coil, coil as capacitor, 'coil as resistor'  Is that 'resistor' the coil of the relay switch?   

Just things that clicked over the last couple days.

This zener thing is nagging me. Maybe if we can crack it, we'll be that much closer.

With the application of sufficient reverse voltage, a p-n junction will experience a rapid avalanche breakdown and conduct current in the reverse direction. Valence electrons which break free under the influence of the applied electric field can be accelerated enough that they can knock loose other electrons and the subsequent collisions quickly become an avalanche. When this process is taking place, very small changes in voltage can cause very large changes in current. The breakdown process depends upon the applied electric field, so by changing the thickness of the layer to which the voltage is applied, zener diodes can be formed which break down at voltages from about 4 volts to several hundred volts.

Tito said wind 3 wires. So possibly the primary(top side) is bifi. Or, the primary oscillates when the switch is open, and the secondary is bifi and rings at the same freq as primary and capacitor across switch? I dunno.  Im all wishy washy with this stuff lately. Burned myself out on it all in the last couple years and no go-go. Have had to focus on work. As thats the only thing that has worked for me so far.

Things are really going down hill in this world. Some of it sooner than we think......

Depressing to say the least.

It would be nice to say there is no better time than now for an OU device. But considering the outcomes so far, I cant say its going to happen any time soon. Sucks.
