Hi zapnic,

This is nothing special and can be a localized magnetic effect.

My son-in-law hangs "U" magnets from the ceiling and the magnet spins just like that although at my place it is totally stable. He also placed dried grass leaves in a bol filled with water on the basement floor and the water spins. I clearly saw 3 ceramic magnets in his "turbine" and this could be the same phenomena.

Hi Michel,
Really? Does he just literally tie the magnet to something an hang it? What is he using to hang them with: a string, nylon fishing line, ...? Has he tried other non-magnetic objects of similar weight? Depending on your answers this may not be relevant but to save time... I recall an interesting experiment a few years ago where if something was hung using a twisted material such as string or thread then the thing would spin but if it was hung with something that didn't have any twists such as nylon fishing line then it wouldn't spin. The reason turned out to be that the downward force of the hanging object would initially cause some untwisting to occur if the material had twists in it.
