A very enlightened post epwpixeig !   Have you made the connection yet?  What better way to hide a secret than to put it in plain sight, in it's simplest form, that everyone will take for granted.   We get so totally bogged down in the complexity of what he was doing that we tend to overlook the obvious. The forest and trees analogy applies here.  There is one common factor within all his devices after he made one simple discovery, every patent after that exploited this discovery.

I had to read Tesla's patents (especially 787412) over and over and sort through every word carefully in order to have some flash of understanding. I do not think that I have made the complete connection yet, but, I am starting to have some basic sense about Tesla's ideas.
I am not sure if there is an intention to hide the information, it seems like the people, are more tempted to go after schemas giving complete devices and interesting effects, in order to fast replicate, than to dig in conceptual understanding. Tesla, with his immense and astute observation of Nature, needed years to perfect his devices and understanding of the phenomena working 16-18 hours per day, and created the fundamental concepts we all try to understand. With that he showed the direction, but we have to be able to see and feel the direction we move towards, if we are to be able to follow in his foot steps.

As Tesla stated: "This mode of conveying electrical energy to a distance is not 'wireless' in the popular sense, but a transmission through a conductor, and one which is incomparably more perfect than any artificial one.  All impediments of conduction arise from confinement of the electric and magnetic fluxes to narrow channels.  The globe is free of such cramping and hinderment.  It is an ideal conductor because of its immensity, isolation in space, and geometrical form.  Its singleness is only an apparent limitation, for by impressing upon it numerous non-interfering vibrations, the flow of energy may be directed through any number of paths which, though bodily connected, are yet perfectly distinct and separate like ever so many cables." But, I totally agree with your analogy about the forest and the trees. In some sense, the less one is concentrated on the details, the easier to understand the ideas, it becomes. Of course, ones the idea is there, the implementation details are make or break for it existence.
Tesla's work is combination of gradual observations/discoveries and improvements and in such way, in time, the effects will manifest themselves, as Eric Dollard showed us.

I just got some time to write and contribute from my small experiments.
More and more I become convinced that a capacitor is only way to achieve what we all dreaming about.
So fare we all has been focusing on the coil, but those are not as important as capacitors are.
You can store almost any amount of energy and discharge the same back and forth.
Suppose we charge two capacitors in series with load in between and then discharge them back to source (battery).
We may spend 1W to charge them and drive the load in the same process and then discharge back to source,
driving the load in the same opposite process. Of course there is always some loss, but then we may think resonance,
and what is the resonance?
There is nothing in it but only point when your losses are at minimum in any energy transfer or conversion.
We may charge them with high frequency and discharge in 50Hz AC fashion,
or discharge them at the oscillation peak storing magnifying result for next opposite discharge.

I am still shocked (almost killed when my oil capacitor coincidentally discharged through my body to the ground, just not intentionally approaching with one hand one capacitor terminal.
Wooow I thought, I can just take wire and load and do the same to ground but.. did not work.
Now I understand why did not work.
Waves we search is in the capacitors and the way we arrange there action upon each other.
What I found is that any energy flow (discharge) needs storage otherwise they are just conversion loss or unhealthy waste.

Would you destroy the dipole if you discharge one capacitor to another?

What is unusual about this device?

According to the 3rd video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UzMr47djKk  :
Measuring average non-constant volts and amps (In: 30V, 5A Out: 20V, 3.5A) and multiplying them gives:
Real Input Power - anywhere from 0W to 150W
Real Output Power -  anywhere from 0W to 70W (the turning grinder suggests it's somewhere between those limits)
Therefore the OU status of this device is inconclusive.

What is the Hantek scope measuring on that 3rd video ?

Sparking and rectifying HV DC or stepping the voltage down and running bulbs and low voltage motors is not special.

I made an arrangement (though it took me some time and effort) in order to investigate Tesla's energy from the air concept. (that is a tube that a discharge is going on, air from a fun creates a draft of allegedly charged particles towards a B-field made by magnets and charges are supposed to saperated due to lorenz forces to 2 opposite plates thus creating an EMF)

Photos are self describing. A made royer style oscillator used for running the hand made HV HF transformer ( note i burned mosfets and transfomers. Bipolars are the way to go since they are shocked resistant as well as carefully disigned transformer, run in resonance with cap accross it and separating from the Tesla coil part via limiting resistors - essential)

Tesla coil is made ala bipolar one, (edjes HV antinodes, middle node, no ground) and the "reactor" a pvc tube with electrodes, a fastened fan 2 x 3 x 28x16x10mm ferrite grade 8 magnets for the b field and some copper plates.
Although Tesla fun, noise and a HUGE supply of ozone, (must be in well ventilated area or your are going to be choked), no power i have been able to detect coming out of this.

Another concept was to put a copper mesh into the pipe, few cm away from the discharge path, and ground it via an mA meter. (so as to positively charged particles to be attracted by the negative ground). Nothing there also even at the uA range.
