I have been busy last few days at assembling a draft replication of Melinchenco alleged OU working scheme with the gapped transformer principle.

I purchased few parts and assembled them as the diagram. My main setups differences:

1) i do not possess a signal generator (i usead my 555 R1-R2 adjustable resistances and caps for different freq zones. A PNP MPS056 signal transistor was used for achieving low pulse width.
2) no variac yet so primary voltage used was 40volts (instead of the suggested 50-60 volts)

I have managed to run my setup at around 2-4 Khz range at 15-30 pulse width. For taking proper measurments i placed in parallel to loads 1000uf 63volts caps but those greatly diminish the performance of the circuit. (i am gonna use motor start AC caps and see)

Initial impressions and judjing by the eye in bulb brightness terms, my system is underunity at around 90% efficiency. Not a tracce of heat at MOSFET, only after prolonged use the primary winding gets hot.

Here is a super simple demonstration with math and concept explained.

Within a resonant propagation in any medium (of normal right hand rules) there exists both E field (electric) and B field (magnetic) components at right angles to one another 90 degrees out of phase. This is exactly like a pendulum which has its kinetic and potential energies interchanging 90 degrees apart, meaning when one is at maximum, the other is at zero, and vice versa.

We know then, that when the oscilloscope shows a peak voltage point, our magnetic component will be at zero. All of the energy at this point will be stored within the electric field.

In fact, we can calculate the total energy in the system at ANY point using the pathagorean therum. A squared + B squared = C squared, or in this case, electric field squared + magnetic field squared = total energy squared.
We know that when the oscilloscope shows peak voltage, our electric field is maxed out while our magnetic is at zero. Therefore we are left with electric field squared = total energy squared. Take the square root of both sides to do away with the squared part, and we are left with electric field = total energy (at the peak point only).

So....what does this mean???

In the video, I show what the peak voltage is of the resonator with no load. This represents the baseline, no power consumed (or a negligible amount, the higher the Q of the resonator, the less consumed) because there is no load. This is reactive power at its best.

When a load is placed on the device (attaching the  LED board) this will cause a Lenz reaction on the resonator, causing energy to decrease. The lenz reaction however is far from a 1:1 ratio as seen in standard transformers. We can see that when the load is attached, the peak to peak voltage goes down, if we see a decrease in electric field, we know we have a decrease in overall energy contained within the resonant structure as explained by Pythagorean therum above. The difference between peak to peak voltage when no load is present, and when a load is present represents power consumed by the process. As you can see in the video, a very small decrease is seen in the peak to peak voltage when the load is attached, in fact, it is decreased by under 1/4. This corresponds EXACTLY to my calculated graphical representation of what should happen. 

For example, if emitter emits 16 units of field strength, and the receiver is 1 radius away, it will feel 4 units per the inverse squared law. If it creates and equal and opposite reaction of -4 units, this too must travel back to the source, where it will feel only 1 unit due to lenz law. We have created 4 units at the load, and hit the source for only 1. This is shown VERY nicely in this video demo.

To make it more interesting, I move it even further from the source, to the point where we still have bright light, but we see almost no loading on the coil, or in other words, we are not consuming power (the difference between initial P to P voltage, and loaded P to P voltage)

This is a Demo only, for the capacitive calculations only, and can be done with magnetic transformer action as well with great success. The power consumed to create resonance is our only "waste" so high Q coils are needed, with spacing in the windings, this forces all electric action to take place in the capacitive globe, not in between the windings as well as was shown in this video.

You guys do not need me to show you anything other than concept and proof of concept in its SIMPLEST form. None of this dissection of fuzzy photos from an obscure video stuff. Really think about this, its all right here.
