Hate to bring up old news, but does anyone know what the black boxes are in this picture of TK's 2004 video.  I would be very appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction.  I hope they aren't just circuit breakers...

To point in the right direction: Same black boxes as seen in the Stepanov video. Heat sinks with transistors, diodes or thyristors. Hence, same parts and components, same principle of work. Just find the principle and this thread can be closed down.

How long ago put experiment was available 2 generators 50 and 49 hertz, I gave them to one transformer and removed the bulb, so when the generator phase match, the total amplitude has grown and light shone brightly.
