sounds like the cap was in the "field", I see this happen with my SSTC setup, the aluminum heat-sink is within 24" of the secondary and it comes alive and can burn me (RF burn). Just be careful with the proximity of anything metal near the HV coils.

Sorry not aluminium coil it is aluminium tube or spiral cut from aluminum
