You are right ancient people have already discovered\invented some interesting things
1)I read a newspaper article around 7 years ago that scientist or argeologist have discovered people in IRAN around 2000 year ago have used lemon juice with 2 different metal to do electroplating.
   People back then did not heard of electricity.

2)This is most interesting newspaper article which i have not forgotten which i read around 15 years ago where argeologist in China have discovered a coffin which had a crystal and copper metal leading to the ear.This part wasn't clear.
