Power plant using "Thorium" exist mainly in India and China.
The deposits is found there as well.

I don't know why Thorium was not popular in USA or in EURO.

Base on my search done few years ago i recalled Thorium is much much safer than Uranium which you can hold it in your hands.
In simple layman term base on my old memory Thorium reaction stops immediately upon removing a material away from core.
It become harmless.Unlike Uranium a material is used to control\maintain reaction to prevent a "fusion runway" or disaster.

I did not do search if Thorium once depleted is it still radioactive.But definitely much better and safer solution than Uranium.

Been busy with some other things, but the last time we talked, I was having some problems with my Colman Set-Up: as far as the RF from the antenna array causing false readings of the gigar counter (note attached picture of original test set-up). It was necessary to relocate the antenna array away from the reaction chamber. I combined the antenna array and associated transmission hardware into on unit, (the amplifier, power supply, and the power / SWR meter) which seems to correct the problem, as well as also provides a nice 100 to 500mhz isolated signal source for other uses. I can now smoothly adjust the output power from around 10 to 100 watts (using the adjustable attenuator  on the frequency generator), and also maintain a low SWR (less than 1.2) by adjusting the transmit antenna length, note video of new design.--- http://youtu.be/O6mwYTkNdH0
