Cool that might work, but the hard part is to find a 100 kv bridge that switches in that nanosecond range. There is some 80kv ones out there for around 100 euros, but not sure if they are that fast.
And a cap bank like that is also quite expensive hehe.

yes HV diodes are expensive. maybe preliminary tests could be done with longer series chains of cheaper lower V diodes?

Oil filled HV caps are also expensive, plus second hand ones if the can is corroded can start leaking oil. Maybe smaller units could be built that use a bank of HV "doorknob" caps which you can pick up on ebay quite a bit cheaper, they are really responsive with low ESR and maybe would do the job.

Please allow me to correct myself:  I do borrow a recent model Dual Core 'N series' Dell Pentium running an American version of Vista with a 100 MB/S data line.  I was able to load a 116MB .PDF file in about 2 minutes while using a Linux-based Mandriva disk someone gave me.
That's the good part.
The bad part is that it defaults to loading .PDF's on 'Okular', which only outputs to another file.  No line printer to send data to.  This computer is borrowed, so I'm limited in what they'll let me do. I can run large files, though.
However, I'm able to print .GPEG and .GIF files in Vista after I save it to the desktop.

What I did was, I stored the link as a shorcut and tried several times to make it stay on the screen of my computer and took some screen captures with the print screen boton, then start paint and choose paste and there was the graphic I needed. I repeat that process several times and made the composition.

I think I understand.  I've seen something similar done on a commercial version of a .PDF compiler.  I don't have that luxury.  I would on my own computer;  not enough money for me to spend, though.
