Can somebody from the replicators try to extract the output power
from the Kapagen to pure DC ?
Maybe use a high speed graetz diode bridge with a capacitor behind
it to load it up to a pure DC output with a few bulbs connected ?

Then the output power could be better measured.

My last tests:

I put a 15 ohms resistance in series between the  and the earth, in order to visualize the output current (2 probes on each pin of the resistance, oscilloscope in differential mode). It is a half-rectified sin wave (see the photo). At the moment of the photo, the variac was outputing only 50v.
There is still HF currents but surprisingly, far less than on the MOT primary.

I monitored the radio frequencies from 100 Khz up to 400 Mhz. There is a very strong HF noise all over the band, especially under 50 Mhz. The level changes a bit depending on the frequencies but not much. I think that all spark gaps generate such HF noise.

Finally I have removed my 2 ground connections and replace them by a short cut to close the circuit. It makes no difference. Until now what I observe is perfectly according to the laws of electronics engineering.

many thanks for showing us the output current scopeshots.

Seems you are right and the digital Wattmeter directly behind the Variac is not
a good measurement method.

The digital Wattmeter should be put in FRONT of the variac directly at the house and
NOT in the garden, so the extension cord should already dampen any RF noise on it
and the extension cable should be put through a toroidal ferrite core to filter out the
RF noise...working as somekind of lowpassfilter which blocks all RF noise.

ALso the output should be tried to be rectified to DC voltage and current with a high speed
graetz bridge and a non-electrolyte capacitor.

This way the output power could just be measured as a simple DC power measurement
by multiplying voltage x current.

This then would also be easier to convert it back via an inverter to the AC input power
to loop the device in a selfrunning mode.
