Regarding flyback driver circuit, you can take one from TV set like TK did. You only need to add LC part info flyback for better resonance frequency results. So input power lowers and output voltage increase to maximum with sinus wave on that frequency.

Regarding flyback with AV plug - it is good showcase where you start experiencing different type circuit and where you use capacitor as energy discharge source for creating electrical shockwave for TT. No battery/generator can give such explosive charge in time of microseconds.

Regarding discharger tube - the air pressure is not changed inside of it. Also no semiconductor can be used instead because it cannot wide spectrum you need for various resonant frequencies at once.


From this point it is your ways to play with circuit and share your experimental results with public domain. Most people wonder where power amplification come from and when you can show exact points with practical tests, hopefully the physics books will be filled with Tesla technology information for your kids to learn.. :)

Before it is verified what the transistor stage output voltage across the flyback primary really is, this would be just guessing.
The power statement of 5 Watt and a drive current of 25mA (measured in series with the primary coil) suggest a 200 Volt
output voltage which i wouldn't know how to realize without additional components.
There is a certain chance that the current maybe was measured in series with the positive rail after the caps maybe. Just had the idea because an analogue ampmeter is shown in the picture which is mostly used to measure DC currents,
but can of course also be equipped with internal or external rectifiers to measure AC.

I would like to hear one more opinion, if putting 80 1kV 1A diodes (for example UF 4007, short switching times) in series to have cheap 80 kV Diode, is a good idea or not?
Also i am still very unsure about which spark gaps to use. Minimal/Nominal Voltage? Electrode Material?
The spark distance influence frequency spectrum produced by the spark?
Im working on a rotary spark gap for other projects, but dont know if i could use it in this setup. ???
