Grums 2x 80 turns run clockwise, while the original shows running counterclockwise.

This while the 3 turn outer coil runs ccw in both cases.

Dear Itsu,

Do you think that the coil direction IS important? I have spent the last two hours testing this device without even a glimmer. Previous devices have always had a glimmer but this thing is dead!!!

If you feel the direction is important then I shall rewind, it's no big deal.

Cheers Grum.

Evening Grum,

You should have two layers of 80 turns. I say this because I think you may have only had 40 turns on each layer?

Maybe a hidden wire to mains is more important than the winding direction of the coil. ;D

Ever wondered how irregularly sparking can result in a steady shining incandescent lamp? I have.

Never mind! The good thing is, if this coil replica stays dead then we know for sure that the classic Kapanadze coil with its classic spark gap has nothing to do with the principle of work of the device and it's just presented as eye candy.

Evening Hoppy.

No definately 80 turns layerd, my former is a foot long and has been wound with 2.5 mm2 house wiring cable stripped nearly 43 feet!!! Funnily enough the actual requirement was the meaning to " Life the universe and everything" :)

Just wondering whether the direction has a bearing?

Regards Grum.
