Yes, I've read this post, and heard of the avalanche effect before, but wasn't sure how in detail this could apply. If I understand right, then we first need particles with *enough* energy, so they can release new electrons while passing through another material.

But how large must be the energy of the particles so the effect can happen? And where exactly must be put the magnet poles, so you gain the large power? The previously posted picture shows 2 magnets 90° from a spark gap, while in the Testatika the poles are aligned on both ends of the metal/plexiglass sheets.

Besides: shouldn't it all take place in a closed tube ? The setup on the Testatika video is open... no quenched gap or something like it... (ok, maybe they removed the tube/cover to confuse people). I expected more like this (tube picture) then: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electron_multiplier - although in the 2 meter Testatika they had a tube shaped so called "amplifier" on top of the device...

You only need high voltage enough to start process and this is where electrostatic machine is for
The magnets are on contact plates there for forced electron flow once it starts.
