Spark don't needs to be spectacularly bright.
Actually, I remind from earlier Kapanadze videos that spark is quite weak.
Video is so bad quality it is hard to determine about actual spark between spark plugs.
How do you know that Tesla coil is "without juice'?
As I said before, Tesla coil way is to accumulate energy, James Corum describes it as "voltage multiplication by coherent spatial modes in slow wave helical resonator".
It has nothing to do with stepping up voltage  classical way in transformer. It is obvious that if you step up voltage in normal transformer, and then step down- you will gain nothing.
Watch Kapanadze video from Turkey- it is clearly three Tesla coils stepped down ( three phase setup).
Logic says it must be this way. In Tesla coil there is energy accumulation .
