Lol its the exact same thing as what its done for pets, that chip doesn't emit itself nor cant record real time data, its like a usb key loll. The emitter have like 1 or 2 cm range and work on induction coupling to get activate for the scanner to read it. Really not a new technology, do a simple search on "pet rfid" you will see by yourself.

You're correct.. it isn't new, but until now.. just for pets.  And it is like a barcode or ID.. the information is stored in a database on a network.. probably via the Internet.. your ID number in the chip is what links you to your record in the database.  The chip itself only stores the ID number.. maybe later down the road they will aslo be able to store your record on the chip.
