personally i believe the dangerous effects of direct intervention at our present stage in humanity is highly underestimated.

We have really no idea what we are dealing with in such a case. It is just not "Hi aliens, nice to be a galactic member at last"

The paradigm of our race identity will have some real trouble as far as our reality frames of reference is concerned, since this
kind of identity is the very drive that fuels our existence and pride as free human beings.

It's like the old saying: If you help a young birds struggle out of its shell to early, it will die.

If this is a prison-planet & the UFO's are (our) wardens, it's not likely they'd openly reveal themselves - after all, they grant us the illusion of free-will, allowing the majority to believe they are in control of their destiny!  As the saying goes, there's none so enslaved than those who believe they are free...

And that's probably looking on the bright side - the flip-side is that this is a farm & we're the herd, tricked into self-management simply 'cos it's more efficient.  A little discussed fact shows that an almost exact percentage of the population-per-country vanish without trace each year world-wide, with economic factors seemingly having no bearing on 'their' selection....

So the next time you take your children to the zoo and the chimpanzees start fighting then by all means y'all just go ahead and jump in to stop the rukus. I am sure the apes will abide by your cosmic wisdom and ability.
Here is another test:
Throw a grenade amongst a tribe of chimpanzees. The leader, the proud one, will confiscate it, figure it out and blow himself up along with the closest minions, no? Then the rest of the survivors will start the hierarchy all over again. They will live in fear of the spot where the explosion happened and that will become their alter of their new belief system over time.

They way we act is not allowed amongst the stars. The pendulum is set up so as to strike us down after a certain time has past if we can not love our fellow human and work together to progress instead of digress. Look through history. There are those that migrate and do great things and those that sit on their duffs to be conquered.

If we use our minds to control our destiny we get to go other places. If we use our physical prowess then we never get off the planet and the janitors get to come and harvest the population as food.

Phase 1. pick up the smart ones.
Phase 2. give the next group the chance to realize and then be picked up.
Phase 3. Throw the last batch in the fire. Lab technicians burn the petrie dishes all the time to dispose of further growth after harvesting their results.
When the malicious ones left behind see what has happened they are going on a rampage cleanup. The perfect cleanup crew. And it all starts over again.

The dilemma of rolling out an OU invention is not so much different from presenting yourself to a formerly isolated plantary occupant.
If I were the aliens, I'd write a nice letter, and deliver it all houses. I'd make executive versions for the various religions, to give them a hand to tie things together. A version for the academic world, one for the cultural world, and most importantly one for the political and banking world.
I'd not invade, or threated, just tell things the way they are. Urge people to keep doing what they're good at. Urge politicians to re-think their stance on politics in general, with out without alien life.

War will not be tolerated. All nukes to be turned in. All colonizations currently or recently violating human rights, to be turned back. Israel will need to evacuate to the US. US wll need to leave the Gulf region, and Northern Korea, alone. Same will be expected vice versa.

I find it ironic that as stated in the Jewish religion 'they have been shown favor'. Now look at this in this way:
A group of a few people get shown favoritism and the next thing you know the jealous ones are all over that causing havoc by not getting 'their' just rewards. Just the mere notion of favoritism spurs war.

What do you think the people around the world are gonna do with an Overunity device? My bet goes with the assholes. They will blow things up.
