Ive seen you doing this for some time now. ;]  Do you still have one of the first ones you made running at this time? Or one that has had just water added for the longest time?
Where do we get magnesium in the form you have?

Now you need to concentrate on creating more surface area of the anode and cathode in each cell to produce more currents. Then you can drive your boom box. ;]

Have you found that the cotton type material is necessary or is it just to keep the cathode and anode a safe distance?

What is the highest voltage,current from 1 cell so far?

yep,,been running a rotating stand non stop for over a year,,other things on and off for several years, playing around a bit. Just using pure magnesium,for negative electrode, around 98% pure,,can find such online. My opinion,,which some have suggested is wrong, but I still think it plays a part in it all. Is the magnesium electrode all over it fills with bubbles. Now there not rising or bubbling out of the water,,just all over the magnesium. I think there oxygen and hydrogen, however could be just one or the other. And the foam I use traps those gases where they get recombined to produce electricity, kind of like a self powered fuel cell in a way. But regardless if my theory on that is correct,,it works none the less. More cells in series gives more voltage and amperage like any batteries do. The voltage of one water cell is like 1.566 volts, same or a bit higher then a regular AA battery. The amperage is less however, but still adds with more water cells in series. Im thinking with enough water cells you could power most anything, even if it takes more of them then say using plain AA batteries. The benefit? well its plain water, cant get no safer then that. No pollution, toxic chemicals and so on, thats always a plus. They last years and years, only needing the occasional quick sanding every so many months. And when the water is low,,since at present it evaporates,,you just add more. Saves a fortune on batteries. I have many ideas how to improve the water cell,,just havent gotten around to trying them,,nor had the spare money. But in time Im sure Ill get around to some of them anyway. Larger Flat plate electrodes would surely do wonders,,cant afford such at the moment.

Lol, if you short one of your cells, maybe you get a lot of bubbles. Like a self powered hydrogen generator.

1.56v is good. Have you tried to charge one of your batteries? Just wonder what would happen, being there are no chems just water.

Yes shorting one of the cells will do that,,if you add salt,,then you get alot of hydrogen and oxygen with the pos and neg crossed with a wire,,ive did that,,made a video on it on youtube as well,,dont think no one really got the potential there,,who knows..
