What do you suppose those coils are doing beyond being simple inductors...?

I say, they are configured in such a way to create a parametric oscillation; if they weren't, Nelson would have connected a battery in order to make those LEDs glow.

Short of hitting us over the head with the answer, Nelson gave us plenty to ponder in that little video.  How about we start asking ourselves the right questions...

Correct me, if I'm wrong, but I see a 90 deg coil configuration ( small coil on ferrite within toroid ) This would be a great place to start from, after all a few milliwatts  of " free " energy could be developed into Kw with the right knowledge.

A few of us looked at the circuit that Nick has recently posted. I used a " potted " transformer in the attached video. I had oscillations for minutes, without the base connection to the Darlington pair transistor.

With that 90 deg coil you can bypass the Lenz Low. You can do that just with High voltage spikes on that big toroid from the movie.
A 90 deg coil will have a magnetic flux and a current on it.
