No secondary capasitor not nessary. There is 4 diodes and it bloks go voltage to coil.
Yes, I make mistake npn should go to minus emiter, PNP to plius emiter.

I try this schematic only with other transistors, other inductor (only 0,05 henries) and other capasitor (1 mikrofarad). Then conect output to input, then it run longer (it makes sound, so I knowh then it works), but stops. Generator is ne555 use about 8-11 miliamps, generator use power generated by this coil (inductor), so maybe theree is fee negy, puts 8 miliams, output 10 miliams, but generator use 8 miliams and 8+8 is 16 need and outs is 10, so maybe by this reason it not work, or maybe inductor is too small, to less have henries. But to get indutor with 10-20 henries on air core need very much wire.

I now try with iron core inductor and and it oscilating about 30 minutes (and now oscilating), but NE555 is feeding from 12 volts. Maybe it get energy from NE555? Or maybe capasitors discharing very slowly. Probarly capastor discharing very slowly.
