Kapanadze use spark gap to oscilate coil(s). Does it spark in 50Hz?  I do not know. Not sure what is between input and output.
But I will answer you as Don Smith would:

Can you point me to a creditable video showing a Don Smith self-runner? I can't remember that Don Smith ever presented anything with a spark gap.

Nor may the TK's SG entirely necessary for it to even be there for the device to operate. Therefore nor faked when the spark does not fire. My opinion.

I don't know about the pulses, but, as he did not need them previously, I would think that they are not totally essential for the device operation.

Ruslan should connect an oscilloscope to his device and then showing to us how he tunes that setup. I bet, he cannot.
