Free Energy will change the World - Free Energy will stop Climate Change - Free Energy will give us hope
and we will not surrender until free energy will be enabled all over the world, to power planes, cars, ships and trains.
Free energy will help the poor to become independent of needing expensive fuels.
So all in all Free energy will bring far more peace to the world than any other invention has already brought to the world.

verpies,

Yes, it appears itsu's toroid inductance is roughly doubling rather than quadrupling when going from 6T to 12T.

This may be the result of leakage inductance as you mentioned, but I'm not so sure there is much by way of circumferential currents there.

itsu might want to try a "progressive winding" technique for the 12T side. This way roughly the same length of core will be covered for both coils. See the attached.

Thats an interesting winding technique. It allows 2, or more I suppose, layers but very reduced capacitance between first layer and second layer windings. Very cool.

Mag's,

QuoteThat's an interesting winding technique.

interesting, right, but if it is feasible on such a small toroid with that small wire (0.3mm) i am not sure.
Let me try that out, probably need some glue to hold the wire in place

I dunno; think you'd get as good capacitance by just spreading it out, you have plenty of space to do a 1:2 space/wire ratio around...

Yes, spreading them out or using a thicker wire to cover the whole circumference of the core would be better.
20A flowing through a Φ 0.3mm wire gives me the jitters.

As far as the circumferential current for a 1 layer 6 turn uncompensated winding covering the full circumference of a toroid, the ratio of the radial current to circumferential current is 6:1, so it is significant.

More than 12 turns will not hurt the inductance measurements when the turns are spread out a little.
