There is an overhead light shining that is casting reflections. The taps he makes with screwdriver all sound to be in synch, so I think the synch sounds OK on the rest of the video. Look at timeslot 1:23 which is after he has switched-off the device and as he removes the plug on the end of the lamp lead, we here a 'clonk' type sound as if the plug has disconnected something.

Edit: Also, with the device switched-off at just after 0:24 before the croc-clip is connected to the earth wire, a click can be heard sounding like a relay operating.

No in this device there is no spark plug to notice but he shows an SCR pulsing could this be doing the same job ?
