  It's a regular conventional flyback core, nothing special about it.

Bronepoezd did not use conventional flyback core.
There is nothing special if you try and the LED circuit would run until caps will get dry only. Would be same as Lasersaber attempt to make long runner with pot core but no way for self runner.

And what little secrets...  Akula or Ruslan made their own yoke cores. How do you know.

Talking about base effects...
    I found this little self runner, and thought that it sure looks simple enough to qualify for studying those base effects.
    Makes me wonder just why it has not been replicated, though.
