well I would assume at first it was a data window (time) but it has no syc between one side and the other
it's free running all you can do is try linking IC1 input 1 in to the (TL494 output) via IC2 pin 12 you should then beable to vary the pulse width output. but it's a crap design as most 494's dont work above 500khz

Find TL494 that says MEXICO or Hong Kong. It is exactly what is written on them. The first works at 1.7Mhz and the second at 1.5Mhz.
if you find a TL494 made in Europe it will work at 1.8-2Mhz like Ruslan show in one of his movie.

I have been very keen about the Ruslan device. I built my push-pull based on the schematic posted here and currently building my pulser based on Conico schematic. If there is a change in the pulser schematic pls, let us know

The TI ones I have will work at 1mhz 1.1 if I'm lucky with a 15 volt supply and a 100pf cap I tested out of a pack of 5! then you need a circuit to make a data width window so you can bring the goal posts to the required spacing

Obviously the higher the voltage the longer it takes.

Note there is a more modern chip than a 494 I had one but who knows were its gone

   conico:  You are trying to get the TL494 to work at 1MHz to 2 MHz, for the Kacher circuit?   The TL494IN work to 200KHz, The Texas Instrument TL494 is the best one to buy, and works to 300KHz,  but not 1 to 2MHz.
