Do "angled magnets" improve the V-gate? Or PMM in general?

I have attached an image made by Dietmar, showing a V-GATE with magnets angled at a 27 degree slant.

Has anyone ever tried this configuration?

If so, did it offer any benefits?

I could really use some feedback on the idea of angling the magnets.

Think about it for a second....even if one were able to just barely, marginally, squeak past the OU barrier and produce continual rotation, what size of magnets and total system would be required to produce anything more than a curiosity?

The answer is not in getting magnets to simply keep magnets moving, but in causing field changes economically.  How can one put magnets into close proximity so as to exploit their "near surface" flux densities while causing rapid flux changes.....
Without getting caught in the middle?

Hold a magnet, any magnet, in your left hand, now bring another magnet, any magnet, past the other such that the fields are perpendicular to one another.  After a bit of practice, you will note how one may be brought past the other at the correct angle while producing zero net drag.  Mount these on a wheel, multiply the situation until you are able to spin the wheel freely, despite the magnets coming into close proximity time and again. 

Now, what to do with all those field fluctuations borne so freely?

So, when you say "perpendicular to each other", you mean "at an angle"? You are saying that Dietmar's angled arrangement has value?

I'm simply saying that your hands can be excellent 'hall probes' if you experiment enough.  Hands on beats a hand out, hands down.
