TPU successfull replicaction? COP=10 1kw torroid

I found this pdf document saying someone has built tpu using ferrite core. Is this true? I need more information about this.

Thanks for the pdf Neo-X. I have seen in many designs this half core isolation with paper, but i don't know why. I hope that someone knows and will explain this.
Perhaps is something about saturation and high power inputs. With low signals, i noticed a stronger output at the second half when there is no isolation between them.

A few years ago, I received six 3-3/8" x 1" thick 10,000 permeability ferrite toroids as free samples.  These are the ones we used to replicate the Jeanna Circuit Joule Thief.  They are not available any more and, the first ones that Jeanna got were from a surplus place that, of course, sold out of them.  You can still buy them but they are about $50 USD each.
