The problem is simple, there are no real viable alternatives to the system we have.  We cannot just stop going to work or stop going to the grocery store.

There is in fact a very viable alternative: you just have to become rich! Only about 2% to 5% manage to achieve that.

And this alternative existed and exists in all societies at all times.

Of course, every now and then also some rich people get trodden under, but rarely. And in a more globalised world money moves you away from trouble spots more easily than ever.

About 2% to 5% have all options, they float on top of all hardship and sorrow. And you and I are not willing to change that, so it will persist.

I know, you do not want to be rich. And that is exactly what you are supposed to do.

Only about 50% of all people who theoretically could vote are registered voters.

Only about 50% of the registered voters actually vote (which is about 25% of all theoretical voters).

A president usually wins the election with a bit more than 50% of the actual votes,

which means tha about 12% to maybe 18% of all theoretical voters have voted for a president.


If you want to tweak the numbers a bit optimistically, you could claim that 20% (of all who could vote) voted for a president.

And you think that anybody would care if that percentage gets even lower?

Political System is too far gone with corruption
to ever be turned around.  It's happened every-
