I have a question for Tinman or anyone who is able to answer.


From my limited knowledge of DC brushed motors I know that you either need a permanent magnet on the stator or you need 2 coils on the stator to create 2 poles so that the motor can start and rotate there after.


Does Tinman's Motor has a permanent magnet on the stator or are the coils creating the permanent poles?  What am I missing here?


How does the motor start (when started in conventional mode - before turning on the switch to a lesser current draw) if the 2 coils re not connected to a power supply to create the permanent poles (if there is no permanent magnet)?

Well, I would suggest that this thread is done and over with.  There is no Bloch wall in the center of a bar magnet.  EMJ did not demonstrate that "partnered output coils" have any merit or do anything out of the ordinary.  We examined his setup and measurements and found serious fault with them and concluded that they were invalid.

Tinman appears to have decided to withdraw from showing any more data and the measurement checking process was not completed with the help of the experts around here.  Perhaps later he will decide to share some more data or give us his final judgement on his setup.  Perhaps a dedicated thread for that would be the best way to go.

Right now I am assuming some kind of problem with the measurements.  I find it interesting how often measurement problems or measurement errors falsely indicate over unity.  I suppose that measurement errors also exist that go in the other direction but of course in that case nothing is reported.  The only things that get reported are false positives, and not the false negatives.

Meanwhile, the inexorable transition over to renewable energy continues.  The Middle East continues to loose its geopolitical power because of that process.  One day perhaps one of the dozens and dozens of solar panel "breakthroughs" that get reported all the time will be real and realizable and will go into production.  Another dramatic drop in the cost of solar power per kilowatt-hour coupled with ongoing improvements in energy storage technology supplemented by all of the other renewable forms of energy will simply hasten the transition towards a better and cleaner world.
