Here is the principle: a coil induces currents in a thick moving conductor. These eddy currents produce a magnetic field that opposes the field of the first coil and also induces a current in a second coil on the other side of the conductor.

There is therefore a coupling of the two coils via the moving conductor. But the eddy currents move with the conductor, so that there is a phase shift between the influence of the first coil on the second, and the opposite effect via the Lenz's law of the second on the first.

The conductor acts as a mediator between the two coils so that the effect of one on the other is not symmetrical but delayed. The mutual induction coefficient is therefore different from L1 to L2 than from L2 to L1, which is a major innovation that could open the door to new applications. Note, however, that there is a perfect conservation of energy in the transfer (and losses in the resistance of the moving conductor).

There is absolutely nothing new concerning the electromagnetism theory which perfectly models this situation.

The following statement is new, at least for a Scientific Publication.

Coupled magnetic elements are found in many key technologies like electric motors, transformers, magnetic memories or MRI machines. In all of them, magnetic elements are symmetrically coupled. "The availability of a new magnetic tool like a diode might thus open a bunch of new possibilities", Gerhard Kirchmair points to the future. For example, the efficiency of wireless charging devices could be improved, since the energy can only flow from the charging station to the device and not in the other direction.

Lenz's Law free Energy Generation is one thing Chris did say. Safe to say Gerhard Kirchmair has been here reading this thread.

It would seem that a bucking coil arrangement dose indeed add energy to a system. My test over the years have shown this to be true,but all my devices that use this arrangement are mechanical--E.G-,motors,generators.

what ever happened to tinman? Is he still around?
