When this test is done with straight wire or untwisted strands
The oscillations from initial placement are much less prolonged.


The graphite is not superconducting at room temperatures
He needs to place them in dry ice for a while and they will warm back up
In their room temperature state, there are losses in the diamagnetic induction.

I've seen enough of his videos to know he isn't a scammer and it isn't April 1st. The main thing that intrigues me is the off center movement of the rotor. If it is fixed, I wonder if it would still rotate. If not, that's ok as long as the oscillations keep going.

This has been done
It stops moving.


Use a single untwisted strand or wire if you
don't have the patience to properly test this.


If you want it to keep moving you have to
hold the graphite under -230F
though dry ice (-100F) does a really good job


There are also photo magnetic effects from
certain light sources that cause the carbon to
to exhibit perpendicular diamagnetic forces.
This is similar to placing a repelling magnet
90-degrees to the one below it.


If this is occurring you can prevent the energy
from entering the system by changing the type
of lighting or darken the room. To get a more
accurate experimentation of the effects.


There are indications that a deuterated water treatment
of HOPG results in partial superconductivity within
regions of the sample. But that is not what is shown here.

I understand your points sm0ky2 but I believe Motionmagnetics is aware of all of that. Sounds like he is saying it works regardless of the known issues with similar designs. He may have the secret sauce of diamagnetic goodies that makes it keep going without freezing.

I'm more inclined to think he just hasn't done enough experiments with this particular design to find out what's causing it to move, or at least making it appear to be self motivated, but I applaud the work as I myself have little time to build, let alone try many variations. Perhaps there is something there beyond the usual?

That set-up is like a magnetic chaos-pendulum
That type of thing goes for a long time, often spuratic in behavior
but the energy declines over time.


After we got bored with the tri-force thing, there was a whole series
of suspended magnetic devices, we quickly learned to avoid twisted strings
for analysis purposes.


we played with lots of ferro, para, dia, electro, and non magnetics
In the same basic arrangement
repelling fields below (in too many variations to count)
with suspended objects above (in just as many variations)


The only thing perpetual we found was an infinite decrease of chronological energy.
