Solid state devices running on trash, yeah right.

Some time ago I concocted this little device it uses 4 opto's and 4 SCR's (not triacs).

I have built it it around a PCB so as to make it easy to convert to 240volt or 110 later on

it only runs on AC and makes good use of whats cumming in as it's output spears to be greater than its input.

The 2 black things that look like battery's are infact 220ufd 450volt Elect caps, they might be a problem at higher voltages!!,  the output lamp looks a bit dim as it's 12v 10Watts but it has a lot of voltage drop through the SCR's.
