The most recent studies found the Coronavirus has a low probability of being able to go airborne beyond 6 feet. Note this is a no wind, stagnant air probability and if the air flow is not zero it could theoretically travel city blocks. So this absurd notion that no real precautions are needed being peddled by imbeciles who don't live in the real world needs to stop.

I know this because I have done extensive research in advanced air flow when designing wind turbines using solid works flow and real world testing. Any number of droplets could easily get caught up in any vortex shed from a building corner and end up being lifted damn near anywhere beyond a few city blocks. Every city is a worse case scenario because it is effectively turbulent air capable of dispersing droplets everywhere. Go to an average building on the front corner or windward side and throw some light material like 1mm Styrofoam balls in the air. It will turn the corner to the leeward side, get caught in the vortex present and go vertical... it's a shit show.


What people can't seem to get through there thick skull is that any grouping of people outside a controlled setting is a lesson in stupidity. It's in the air, on surfaces, on people and basically everywhere and now they say some people can carry the virus for up to a week with no symptoms.

A recent Chinese study comes to the conclusion that there could be two virus strains in the novel lung disease. An older type of virus has meanwhile mutated into a type of pathogen that is more contagious and therefore more dangerous for humans. This newly developed virus type is responsible for 70 percent of the recently reported cases. The researchers are encouraging further studies to find out whether the different course of the disease - sometimes milder and sometimes more severe in symptoms - could also be related to the two strains.


Xiaolu Tang from Peking University and his colleagues published their research status in the "National Science Review", a journal of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The team examined discrepancies between Sars-CoV-2 and other coronaviruses from the same family, including those found in bats.


They came across two variants of Sars-CoV-2, which are supposed to represent two stages in the evolution of the virus. "Genetic analyzes of 103 SARS-CoV-2 genomes show that these viruses have developed into two main types (labeled L and S)," the researchers wrote. First, the French newspaper "Nouvel Observateur" reported about it.

If it was true that it would leave you less healthy I have never noticed that.

Your biased self observation is not much of an argument.  Chlorine Dioxide is a simple non-selective powerful oxidizing agent. As such it disrupts most biochemical pathways.  I know of many toxic chemical compounds that work like that, but I would never tell people to ingest them even in small quantities ...just because they kill some germs but do not kill you immediately.

Chiu's analysis shows California's strict shelter in place efforts appear to be working.

Over half of the 50 SARS-CoV-2 virus genomes his San Francisco-based lab sequenced in the past two weeks are associated with travel from outside the state.
Another 30% are associated with health care workers and families of people who have the virus.
"Only 20% are coming from within the community. It's not circulating widely," he said.



That's fantastic news, he said, indicating the virus has not been able to gain a serious foothold because of social distancing.


It's like a wildfire, Chiu said. A few sparks might fly off the fire and land in the grass and start new fires. But if the main fire is doused and its embers stomped out, you can kill off an entire strain. In California, Chiu sees a lot of sparks hitting the ground, most coming from Washington, but they're quickly being put out.
