Like many progressive European/Nordic countries, Canadians see Canada as simply the country we choose to live in.
We have almost no fanatic patriotism like America, China or Russia.
We and our collective values define Canada it does not define us. Canada is what we as citizens choose to make it.
Do you understand?, we see Canada as a great place to live but we could choose to live anywhere and be just as happy.
We find it strange that so many people feel trapped within there own country while were free to go anywhere and be happy.

We choose to live here which does not make us special, that's absurd in the same way thinking changing addresses makes us more special. Canada is just another place, a really nice and very big place, we define Canada it does not define us and we are free to choose.

In this sense we think globally and see Canada as just another country on this planet.
We are not the center of the world or exclusive only an integral part of something larger than ourselves.
However nobody should see this as weakness and we wouldn't think twice about protecting our interests.
