Does anyone know if there exists a specialty outfit that sells
copper coated neodymium magnets?

I'm asking because I may have found an interesting effect.

Two magnets in a static state with a piece of copper between
them acts for all practical purposes the same as placing a
piece of plastic or any other non-magnetic material between
them.  However, if these two magnets are in rapid motion
relative to each other, then something like copper in between
changes the story.  Eddy currents develop in the copper and
the field between the magnets appears to get distorted.  I
have to wonder if this isn't a key component for the development
of a true magnet motor.  I see a similar behavior with plain
nickel plated neodymium magnets but I'm not sure it is as
pronounced as it might be with copper.  I definitely see a
difference with epoxy unplated neodymium magnets.

Not sure yet what it is I hope to find or if there is anything
there that can be exploited.  Just curious if anyone has
bumped into a supplier that has copper plated magnets,
especially if they have them with various thicknesses.

You might look at plating them yourself.

or,
Copper plated items seemingly are popular decor lately. You might find someone near doing small batch for reasonable.

or,
Use copper foil.

Interesting. Good luck.

I do have brush plating copper and other metal solutions
High density ,will keep building thickness with time ..easy Peasy (if it'll plate ( have some silver in solution "paint"
For base coat if need be .
Even Gold ( if copper is good ? Gold should be "best (er)" ?
Should be a good brush plating application

Whats for yah ne're go bye yah

Great info guys.  Thank you.

I was poking around on the internet and guess what I found?

Cast bullet gas checks.   They may well work for testing purposes.
