Dr. Lindeman seems to sell a DVD now about it for around 30 US$.

The basic pronciple is the Newman principle.

I just had a look at the 2 patents.

A battery is used to pulse coils via mechanical switches and
then the BackEMF is used, as in Joseph Newman?s case, to drive
additional loads, like incandescent bulbs.
As the magnets inside the coils are attracted, there is
also a mechanical output , so the device also works as a motor.

As he stops the current flow from the battery to the coils immediately
via the mechanical switch, the Back EMF is charging up a capacitor
parallel across the switch and parallel to the cap are light bulbs as loads.

In Newman?s case , Newman  just does not use a capacitor in earlier designs,
but he just lets  the BackEMF jump via his commutator switch back to the
battery and use this sparking current to recharge the battery and
have in series incandescent bulbs, which then also light up
due to the RF current burst when the spark jumps and this pulses current
back to the battery.

As the magnets move inside the coils this will even enhance the
BackEMF as when the switch opens the coils are floating
and the still moving magnets induce a dB/dt into the floating
coils, which will increase the BackEMF voltage and energy.

All in all the whole output energy ( mechanical + electrical plus
wiring heating) will be more than the inputed electrical energy.

So the COP is > 1.
