Sean,

A long day here.  Someone told me a better way to make PCBs and I tried 4 times (for 4 modules each time) and wasted most of the day..  LOL.

I guess I will stick to way I have always done it.

But four boards (my way) UK bound when I get info.  Did you get my Emails?

EDIT:  I tinned them (bottom picture).  I can saw and drill if you want.  Band saw drifts  (and no it is not ME) and I am blind as a bat on the drilling.  :D..

Hi Mike

Looking good and yep sometimes best to stick to the way you know, especially as you seem to have perfected it!

I have got a Guilatine to chop them up, so not a problem.

I want to get a couple of new PCB's drawn up if I find time this week.

1.) Add on Module board that just has 8 Opt Inputs. This should be cheap and simple enough and this way I can use the Main board for a dedicated Tacho that I need for another project.

2.) Cut down Main module Board so it does not have the RS232 Circuit or the Pic Chip.
This will then simply be a power board with a 5volt Reg to run the Module addon Pics and also a variable Pot so the supply to the Fets can be varied.

This gives a couple more options then.

Other things i have found while playing is that it is nice to invert the Opto Inputs if the input mechanism is changed, for example this weekend I popped a Reed switch in place of a Opto Switch and the reed was Closed until a magnet passed by, so I Inverted the pic code to look for a low instead of a High to get the pulse, but be nice to do that in software. Will add that to the Windows Software and also to take the timing down from Milliseconds to Microseconds as requested by a couple of other people.
Also I still need to get the Variant code sorted.

Can someone please change the day from 24hrs to 48hrs???, would make our lifes easier LOL :) :)

Cheers

Sean.
