Hydrostar questions

New guy here,  I am working on a Hydrostar system and have found some problems. I have not found anyone who has built one of these and has used it.

I am working on the torrid coil and purchased the core material and wire recommended in the instructions. The problem is the size of the coil, I have 4 layers and the outside diameter is almost the size of the housing. It also has 880 turns and each layer will have less turns. The total 8 layers LL not have the required 2,000 turns.

It seems like the wire (23AWG double build wire) is too thick to get the 2,000 turns in 8 layers. The finished coil will be larger diameter than the inside diameter of the housing.

Anybody have ideas??

I was thinking about that too. i asked a toroid winding company in australia to estimate the size of the coil and it looks like you are right. sorry cant help but if you find out more please post

hey tried to contact emails given in the hydrostar instructions. no one home. got the shits sent in for a refund to clickbank and got my money back. suggest you do the same. this thing is unbuildable as instructed. HTH Darc

Some info on the hydrostar circuit ,it needs some extra resistors to not blow up
the circuit....

You are right on the extra resistors needed. Also the transistors are pretty small and I think they will overheat and fail.

My Dad contacted the person he got the instructions from and he admitted that neither he or the writer ever built one. Since we are 3/4 done, we wil continue to build the unit and try it out but it does not sound too promising. Hope I am wrong.

As for the coils, if they are completely coated after building (per the instructions) they should NOT need the double build insulation. Since they are immersed in water al the time, they should not ever overheat.....
