If you click on the picture by m668004, you will see the animation  (magneticenergypump_2.gif)  of rotating the two inner cylinder magnets that require no extra force as an input from you other than defeating ball bearing friction and air drag.

lol, not looking for any problems.  I've already got a big one that keeps me awake a night involving a certain machine that makes motion perpetually... should come up with a name for it    Gyula you are quite the character, I must say.  Thanks for the links!

This reminds me of a story I read about some on/off switchable magnetic-shoes that the U.S. space program developed in the early days which soon disappeared with little or no record. (anybody else remember reading about this...I didn't find it on the web to post with this...but it's there somewhere)

It seems that switchable permanent-magnets would be KEY to an OU motor.

They're called radus boots, and they are no longer used by NASA, instead "shuffler" boots have taken their place, presumably because of fears of power loss, or...?  Supposedly they use plates and electromagnetic coils to redirect magnetic flux.

Oh, and supposedly this is what the MEG is based on, as well as the hilden-brand motor and a couple other devices.. Radus has been the focus of many experimenter's research. Check out any patent database web site and do a search for raymond radus.
