I don't have the link handy right now, but I did find this on some international patent site, and it shows as patent applied in several countries. I will search for this again. The Canadian patent application seems current and up to date, and showed as being scheduled for review in July 2007.

I agree; it must be a timer.
The reason for placing it there is unknown to me but I suppose it is just for proving that the video is not faked and that the device accelerates in time. You may ask Tseung directly about it. He should know.
The timer does not bother me at all; it?s the wires that do. I?ve conducted many similar experiments in the past. Never seen ou along this line.

Actually, Tseung is at least very close tied to it. He is promoting the above video (and another similar one) on youtube.
(Too bad that those two wires quietly go out of the frame? otherwise I would be instantly convinced, no matter what science says about it.)
