Yes, his motor does look like a variation of the 'Takahashi-Motor' you posted. Minato says that his motors reach 330% efficiency on average.

Ok I just took a look at that german site (sax.de/~stalker) .. I am now quite convinced that the 'minato engine' is just an improvement on Takahashi's motor.

Does anyone know what has become of Mr. Minato? Last time I saw him was in December 2006 in Tokyo. He told me he was moving out of the country to another country that was sponsoring a manufacturing facility for him (I won't say where to protect his privacy because I consider myself to be a casual friend). If anyone knows his whereabouts and if he is in production, I would appreciate the news.
Thanks!

hi there, i was reading before some days this:
http://www.sax.de/~stalker/pad/199801/
i was special interested in the "Takahashi-Motor":
seems to me like the same principle - but i did not found more stuff and information about it. Maybe the name in this article is wrong (Yasunori Takahashi) and they mean Kohei Minato.
Absolutely not. Yasunori Takahashi is the man behind the Betamax video
system and gave us neodymium magnets (by mistake, apparently). He is
a serious scientific hitter, and I heard a story that he did not patent this
device becasue he saw it as too similar to the Minato motor.
