i don't have any kids, why should i pay to school yours?
the police have never protected me from a crime, they are reactive, not proactive. i have a gun, and can 'protect' myself. i have no need of the police.

most US residents don't 'own' their homes even after they are payed off. allodial title is not recognized in the US except 2 'wild west' states as far as i recall, texas and nevada. same goes for your car. you don't hold the title, you hold a certificate of title, which simply certifies that a title exists but you don't have it. i'll give you one guess who does...

for those who care about their 'rights' research 'fee simple' and allodial titles.

the clothes on your back, yeah you own those, for the moment.
personal possessions, yeah you own those, for the moment, excluding most of your computer software.
