Hi all,

I am actually trying to build a magnetic motor with neo's magnet and i am searching a way to block the magnetic field on one side of the magnet. So what i am looking for is some king of "shielding". I have heard of the "MU METAL" but it seem to be difficult to find.
Is one of you folks know some kind of material that would do the same as MU METAlL?

Regards   Joe

Joe, I dont know "MU Metall", but this guy's here use Wismut / Bismuth as a diamegnetic metal.

Hi Markus,

I went on the site and i did translate it in french cause i don't speak german and could not find the part that they talk about "bismuth", the translater is not very efficient. But did you read that he is using bismuth to lower the magnetic field of a permanent magnet?

Thanks  Joe

GM

Joe, here is the direct link to an experiment of this two guys using wismuth for a dimagentic levitation.
