I have been testing a configuration that is behaving unlike anything I have designed before. It is based on a principle I came up with called Coil Internal Magnetic Field Source Modulation.
The magnetic field of a permanent magnet or magnets is located inside the coil only. The tests I have ran had two 1" by 1" rod shaped NIB grade 48 magnets between two iron bars. A coil is wrapped around the two bars with the two magnets internal to the coil windings (see photo on web page). If the two magnets are close together the field between the two magnets occupies a short length of the two bars. If one magnet is moved to the other end of the two bars the build up of the field in the length of the two bars induces a voltage/current in the coil. The resulting coil magnetic field is of opposite polarity to the permanent magnets field and counters it. This reduces the attraction between the two magnets allowing the two to move apart with less resistance than if the coil was an open circuit, not working, not producing power. This is just the opposite of conventional magneto operation. The magnets are in contact with the metal bars but an air gap around .005" would allow for near drag free moving of the magnets apart.
The bars being constant in all respects along their length allows for the ease of movement of the magnet. This process can not take place if the magnetic source is located external of the coil. The field has to increase and decrease in strength while the magnetic source is located inside the coils core. If you attempt this field modulation with the magnetic source external of the core, the magnet has to move to the core to increase it and move away from it to decrease it. This causes the rotor and stator to interact like a conventional magneto needing external work input.
I will keep you posted on construction of a proof of concept that allows the magnet to move with a .005" clearance between the magnet poles and the bar's surface. This will allow for near drag free movement of the magnet within the coil.

I have always felt there is more going on inside the coil than any where else.

Hi Butch
I think I understand,but not 100% but I'm really trying!!
The 2 iron bars,are they 1 bar and 1 tube?are the pm's you are using 1"dia.and 1" thick? or is it me that is thick!!!
What would happen if it were just 2 pm's,no iron,I can try that one.

There are 8 seperate magnets in each of the two drawings I listed in the above post.
1" by 1" can be used.
Our animator is making a 3D animation at this time and it will make it very clear how it operates.
What is interesting is that the only way you can get the field to increase in the coil core when the rotor magnets are moving away from each other is to have it take place inside the coil core. That way the magnets are moved apart with less work.
Tests will be complete in two to three days. I have to build a fixture to move the magnets without them touching the bar surface.
