I am sorry but i don't understand what  lancaIV is talking about, not so quick on the uptake i guess.....

anyways, here's a funny way to look at things

Knowledge is power, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
therefore absolute knowledge corrupts

what I'm trying to say is the more you know, the more it is that the things you know can be used for evil, to know everything would be to know both good and bad of what is ultimately possible.

I think people in general can never handle the power that comes through knowledge, a person maybe, but everyone is not the same.
We are killing ourselves off with our knowledge of the world right now....pollution, nukes, genetics, and better ways to kill each other off
knowledge of these things is not evil, it depends on the person or persons who knows of them.
This is what i think the bible is saying.
to Know is to seek death and life at the same time, dark and light, good and evil,
we are cursed with the lust of power and knowledge, no matter our intentions
Its a matter of time until somebody with the knowledge of how to end the world does just that, ends it.

The Garden of Eden typifies man's original state of perfection before he began to have experience. The Tree of Knowledge means the Life Principle which can be used both ways. It bore the fruit of the knowledge of both kinds of experience, good and evil, freedom and limitation. Man must choose which kind of fruit he will eat. "Choose ye this day whom ye will serve."  Man makes his choice consciously but generally in ignorance. The serpent typifies the Life Principle viewed from the materialistic viewpoint; it casts man from his perfect state through his belief in duality and separation.

Ok, now you have a better version of the bible.  In this version, god is neutral. 

3:9 Yahweh God called to the man, and said to him, “Where are you?”
3:10 The man said, “I heard your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
3:11 God said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”
3:12 The man said, “The woman whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”
3:13 Yahweh God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”
The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

Ok, so clearly the people written the older version of the bible doesn't know what he talking about.
