THE GARDEN OF EDEN

The Garden of Eden typifies man's original state of perfection before he began to have experience. The Tree of Knowledge means the Life Principle which can be used both ways. It bore the fruit of the knowledge of both kinds of experience, good and evil, freedom and limitation. Man must choose which kind of fruit he will eat. "Choose ye this day whom ye will serve."  Man makes his choice consciously but generally in ignorance. The serpent typifies the Life Principle viewed from the materialistic viewpoint; it casts man from his perfect state through his belief in duality and separation. Man chose to depart from Good, and man alone must choose to return to It. God lets him alone; for he is a free agent and may do as he wills with himself. When man decides to return to his Father's House, he will find that his Father is still there. "Act as though I am and I will be." "Onlook the Deity and the Deity will onlook thee." "Be firm and ye shall be made firm." "As though hast believed so be it done unto thee."  "Ask and it shall be given unto you; seek and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you."  God's Creation is Perfect and we must wake to the fact and know that we are now in the Kingdom of Heaven.

FreeEnergy, this all makes perfect sense; I'm a fan of and believer in metaphysical principles. Also, I have been exposed to the idea that the Bible story is a metaphor for individual spiritual realization and growth, as well as a metaphor for world/race/cultural experience and knowledge.

Last night on public television I watched part of a program about fractals, highlighting the work of Benoit Mandelbrot. I'm very familiar with fractals. The basic idea of a fractal is that the smallest parts of a structure are similar in nature to the whole, and the nature of the whole can be deduced from a smaller part.

I think the ideas of fractals and holographic similarity in the universe applies as well in the domain of the mind and mythical stories. Isn't it true and logical that the Adam and Eve story, conveying psychological development and concepts of good and evil, reflects the story of each individual's mental growth and challenges? The movement of the mind from a baby's level to an adult's? The larger development of societies and cultures? Even of the race mind?

The Adam and Eve story encapsulates some powerful and fundamental questions that each of us, and our entire race, must deal with before we move forward to a higher level of conciousness: What, really, is good and evil? Does a strict interpretation of good/evil, male/female, innocence/knowledge, and other dualities help or hinder our ability to be compassionate and understanding? Can dual and holistic views both be useful and exist in the same space?

The characters of God, Adam, Eve, the devil, the serpent, etc., exist in the God mind, superconscious, subconcious, and conscious minds, who play out the challenge of temptation and decisions of social responsibility that confront us all.

Ahh, a Terence Mckenna follower then?
I do believe that psychoactive plants may play a part in the developing of the size of our brains.
I mean, why the hell would we only use a little part of a large brain?
-because the rest developed by crosswiring with a psycho active substance, kinda like flexing a muscle by shocking it, it gets bigger even though you are not technically using it.
-or we were genetically engineered, Adam and Eve were the first successful projects, and all that extra brain mass is just leftovers. I think the human genome project backs this up a little.

I've never heard of this guy Terence Mckenna,i came to this on my own account.It makes sense that people seem to have come from nowhere in the scheme of how old the earth is and the Bible gives no account of the timeline and environment beyond the desert from whence it came.

I think the better word would be 'Accurate' instead of 'strict'.  I think Yeshua, Jesus Christ said it best....."Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"  and  "As you judge, so shall you be judged".



Of course, He also stated:  " I am the way, the truth, and the life, and none shall come unto the Father except through Me."

Never? well good thinking christo, you came to the same conclusion

psychoactive drugs give the user a feeling of instantaneously "connecting" thought and reality.the aminos in the drugs can also cause birth defects so it was my thought that man could very well be the drug enfluenced evolution of another primate.

I suspect that is a widely divergent 'we' of which you speak.  I've learned the hard way to trust none of what the garden variety PHD says, and less than half of what he shows you.

I think most of these afterlife experiences ar just halucinations of what people want to see when they die.
when your brain thinks your going to die a whole mess of chemicals are released as well as starving your brain of oxygen and blood. this could definatle be what people call heaven and hell-
you would really understand only if you have had good and bad "TRIPS"
somebody who has never had a hallucinogenic experience wouldn't understand

There is no need to make things complicated the story of adam and eve is simple

1/ Adam and eve were commanded by god to replenish the Earth that is populate it

2/ They did not know they were naked they had no knowledge of good and evil or how to replenish populate the earth

3/ Eve partook of the fruit and then discovered that in order to replenish she needed adam to eat of the fruit and know what she now knew so eve offered the fruit to adam we dont know the exact conversation but you can be sure eve had a few womanlly attributes he did not want to leave and so he too partook of the fruit

4/ they then had knowledge of good and evil and discovered they were naked and hid from God

5/God found them and they were cast out of the garden. They  could not have stayed in the garden and eat of  the fruit of the tree of life as they would have lived forever not tasteing death, so they were cast out and would suffer death realizeing what god had said that  by doing so they would surely die.

6/ So they could now fullfill the commandment toreplenish the earth

and the rest of the logic is just as flawed... god commanded us to "replenish", but didn't give us the knowledge how to? wtf is that?
its so fucking amusing how weak willed people take a literary device and turn it into something monstrous, thereby using it as justification for all sorts of atrocities against humanity.
