You see i get 2 polystyrene cups and a length of string and join them together .. I call it telefontechnica

   What you have there inno is a magnetically constucted plasma field.  Get rid of the magnets and arc straight to the terminal for proof of concept and you'll get some boring yellow sparks.  You can get a better spark if you use two carbon brushes with a dipole shape.  One on the wire and one on a wire that is attached to the transformer terminal but in the field of the magnets.  Carbon has negative resistance with heat rise so the current in the plasma pinch zone gets a nice energetic input.
